Ante/Post-natal Pilates


This class is taught by:
The benefits of antenatal and postnatal Pilates during and after pregnancy for both mother and baby are well known and varied, ranging from pain management through greater breathing technique and improved posture to reduce general aches and pains, to preparing pelvic floor muscles for control during the birth, as well as developing general fitness appropriate to birth, and preparing particularly the upper body for the demands of infant care and breastfeeding. Postnatally we see a more clear path to drawing the body back together, restoring and re-engaging muscles and core strength and realignment and balance o posture.
 
Focusing on the three main principles of alignment, breathing and centring (core stability), the aim is to develop awareness and strength appropriate to the challenges and demands of pregnancy, the birth of your baby and beyond.
 
These classes are mixed antenatal and postnatal so some exercises will be different depending on which category you are in and which exercises you need, can do or should avoid.
